New platform will examine and distill complex security issues for everyday internet users
SAN DIEGO, May 15, 2020 –ESET, a global leader in cybersecurity and threat detection, today announced the launch of its new cybersecurity podcast, Speakeasy Security. Posted weekly on ESET.com, Speakeasy Security will be hosted by ESET’s Head of Public Relations Ranson Burkette, and Chief Security Evangelist Tony Anscombe, who will offer prescriptive advice to everyday internet users in a less technical and more accessible manner.
Speakeasy Security will also be available on a range of popular podcast platforms, including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Sticher, Google Podcasts, Amazon Alexa and more. The podcast kicks off its first episode with a discussion on cybersecurity in the era of Covid-19, examining the most important digital assets to safeguard and highlighting how to identify and protect against spam, phishing, compromised business emails and other malignant online activities that have increased during the pandemic. Additional upcoming episodes will focus on productivity while working from home and how to audit your home devices.
“The cybersecurity landscape is evolving at a rapid pace, and the coronavirus pandemic has sped up digital transformation, making it even more challenging for the average internet user,” said Anscombe. “Speakeasy Security will examine topical technology and cybersecurity news of the day and the implications of significant global events such as Covid-19. Our goal is to present a seemingly complicated tech issue in an understandable and fun way, while also providing useful tips and advice for businesses and consumers.”
In addition to Anscombe, a 20-plus year security industry expert and established author, blogger and speaker on the cybersecurity threat landscape, the podcast will frequently feature ESET’s leading researchers and threat detection experts, as well as recognized cybersecurity influencers and guests from across the tech universe. Burkette, who has over a decade of experience providing public relations and corporate communications to cybersecurity and consumer electronics clients, will serve as the podcast’s moderator.
Speakeasy Security adds to ESET’s body of original content, which includes its award-winning blog WeLiveSecurity. Featuring commentary from ESET’s global security researchers, WeLiveSecurity offers in-depth knowledge of the latest threats and security trends, views and insights, video tutorials and advice for everyday internet users on how to secure data effectively.
