ESET, a global leader in cybersecurity, has been recognised as a ‘Top Player’ for the second consecutive year in Radicati’s 2019 Endpoint Security Market Quadrant report. The report examined the 16 leading endpoint security vendors in the market, assessing their functionality and strategic vision. ESET was placed in the top bracket for the second year in a row, improving on its 2018 score in both of these key aspects.
The Radicati Market Quadrant is a metric that is used to paint a picture of a specific technology market. This edition surveys the Endpoint Security Market, a subsection of cybersecurity that comprises appliances, software, cloud services, and hybrid solutions that help to secure and manage endpoints for business organisations of all sizes. Radicati positions vendors in a quadrant according to two criteria: functionality and strategic vision.
Functionality refers to the breadth and depth of features of the vendor’s solution, whilst strategic vision assesses each vendor’s understanding of customer needs, ability to deliver through attractive pricing and channel models, customer support, and innovation. Radicati also evaluates according to key capabilities, including malware detection, patch remediation, web and email security, encryption, mobile device protection, data loss prevention, endpoint detection and response (EDR), and more.
For the second consecutive year, Radicati’s Market Quadrant rated ESET as a ‘Top Player’, a classification reserved for market leaders with a solid vision for the future that provide a broad range of deeply functional products. In addition to being placed in the quadrant’s top bracket, ESET also improved on its 2018 score, making significant gains in both the functionality and strategic vision metrics. ESET was particularly commended for the high performance and high detection rates of its Endpoint Security solutions, in addition to the solutions’ ease of use, which is a result of the low footprint and system resource usage. It was also noted that ESET Endpoint Security is well suited to offer protection for companies with heterogeneous environments.
ESET was equally praised for its management console, which provides real-time visibility for both on-premise and off-premise endpoints. ESET’s global network of installed business solutions, which feeds information to the ESET LiveGrid, its cloud-based reputation system, was also recognised as a key tool. Access to actionable threat intelligence gives ESET customers the ability to better predict the next steps of potential attackers.
Juraj Malcho, ESET’s Chief Technology Officer, said, “We are delighted to be ranked as a ‘Top Player’ by Radicati for the second year in a row. This rating is a reflection of ESET’s untiring dedication to making technology safe for our customers, our industry-leading security software, and our commitment to innovation. Furthermore, we are particularly proud of our own self-improvement within the rankings, which demonstrates that, just like the threats that we are combating, ESET is constantly evolving.”
