We’re pleased to announce the release of the 2018 Edition of ESET NOD32, Internet Security, Smart Security Premium and Multi-Device Security.
Many of us may feel that the seemingly innocuous data stored on our computers, laptops and smartphones might not be of that much interest to cybercriminals, unfortunately this is not the case.
Every year, incidents of identity theft and cybercrime targeting individuals continue to rise as we become increasingly reliant on technology in our digital-first lives.
With ransomware, malware attacks and cyber-threats becoming increasingly sophisticated and harmful, it is vital that everyone take appropriate steps to protect themselves with the highest levels of internet security.
What’s new in the 2018 Edition?
Built using three decades of progress in IT security, our flagship products add new features to already strong multi-layered security, to create our fastest product to date.
One layer is our Unified Extensible Firmware Interface (UEFI) Scanner - a feature that proactively checks if malware is present in the software interface between an operating system and platform firmware.
By residing in the UEFI, malware can gain full control of the infected device and becomes very persistent by being able to survive even a reinstallation of your operating system. Our UEFI Scanner is able to discover and mitigate such attacks.
The Internet of Things is another big trend in tech; therefore, we’ve updated the Connected Home Monitor feature, which now includes improved scanning for your smart devices. This ensures that you can be safe in the knowledge that your valuable data is protected no matter where you are, or what smart device you connect to the network.
Furthermore, the enhancements we’ve made do not impact device performance. In today’s fast-paced world, where speed is everything and security should not slow anyone down, we have made sure that our products have minimum impact on computer’s speed, while still maintaining effective proactive protection.
Last but certainly not least, the my.eset.com website has now been updated with the Licence Manager feature. This feature lets you view your expiry date, which devices have ESET installed and provides a central location to manage all of your ESET licences.
