Sarbanes-Oxley Act

SOX is a U.S. federal law that sets standards for public company boards, management, and public accounting firms, addressing corporate governance and financial disclosures. Section 404 of SOX requires that publicly traded companies establish and maintain internal controls and procedures for financial reporting, and that they document, test, and maintain these controls and procedures to ensure they are effective.
