Businesses Set to be Cybercriminals’ Main Target in 2015, States New ESET Security Report

Next story

ESET®, a global pioneer in proactive protection for more than two decades, has published an in-depth security report focusing on the top cybercrime trends for 2015, freely available in the white paper section on WeLiveSecurity.com.
While last year’s focus was on internet privacy and Android malware, new areas of information security risks are bubbling to the top in 2015. The free security report, Trends for 2015, focuses on the five main security concerns that businesses ought to focus upon to fend off cyber-attacks, explains why businesses need to be on guard, discusses how these threats have evolved, and provides advice for organizations on how to best protect their assets.

“As organizations improve their digital connectivity, new avenues for cybercrime open,” said Raphael Labaca Castro, ESET Security Researcher and Editor in Chief of WeLiveSecurity.com. “The trick is to make sure your defenses are more impenetrable than your peers. By better understanding the threat landscape, you are much better prepared for the unwanted stuff lurking around the corner.”

The report focuses on the following top security concerns for organizations:
  1. Evolution of APTs
  2. Point-of-Sale Malware
  3. Information Leakage
  4. Vulnerabilities
  5. Internet of Things… or Internet of Threats?

“We can all imagine how frustrating it is for organizations to protect their assets from hackers and cybercriminals, so we wanted to provide some assistance in the form of this report,” continued Labaca Castro. “We asked our security experts to analyze the trends and provide a detailed analysis of what they think is around the corner. This report is intended to provide additional information to organizations, helping them review their security policies, technologies and processes and allocate appropriate resources in the right places.”
