ESET – the global leader in cybersecurity – has today announced it will demonstrate the benefits of its multilayered approach to security at Gartner Security and Risk Management Summit 2019 in National Harbor, Maryland, USA. The demonstration will map four real-life targeted attack scenarios to MITRE ATT&CK, a global knowledge base of cybersecurity adversary techniques.
ESET Senior Malware Researcher Robert Lipovsky and Product Marketing Manager Ben Reed will give their presentation titled “Protecting against APTs utilizing multiple layers”, at National Harbor room 11 on Wednesday, June 19, at 10:45 a.m. In the presentation, they will describe several attack scenarios and show exactly how ESET blocks them.
“With most attacks, our products can stop them on multiple layers. However, deeper layers often don‘t encounter the threat, as it gets blocked earlier. For the sake of illustration, we’ve disabled some layers to show that the threat will still not make it through the defense,” explains Lipovsky.
ESET’s security solutions are based on strong research carried out in nine research & development centers across the world that, among other achievements, uncovered how the world’s first malware-induced blackouts took place; discovered the origin of NotPetya, which caused the most damaging cyberattack in history; and exposed major ISPs injecting commercial spyware into legitimate software downloads.
“In the course of our research, we often come across new adversary techniques and tactics. As a responsible member of the cybersecurity community, we contribute our findings to the MITRE ATT&CK knowledge base to help expand this common language in cybersecurity”, comments Lipovsky.
ESET will be present throughout the Gartner event from 17 to 19 June at ESET booth #854, and available for expert insight on their enterprise-grade cybersecurity solutions.
