IDC MarketScape names ESET a Major Player in mobile threat management

Next story

February 22, 2019 – ESET has been named as a Major Player in the IDC MarketScape: Worldwide Mobile Threat Management Software 2018-2019 Vendor Assessment (doc # US44521018, December 2018), which analyzed fourteen major MTM vendors.

According to the report, “The integration into ESET's larger product portfolio is a strength for customers standardized on ESET security products. The converged PC/mobile security and management functions are especially valuable if companies are managing large fleets of BYOD Android devices in the workplace."

The rise of mobile threats
While traditional PC computing generally experiences a greater danger in security threats, mobile management teams are focusing on additional mobile security as it becomes increasingly important – particularly with the rise of phishing and social engineering attacks on mobile users. Many organizations use enterprise mobility management (EMM) as their primary mobile security strategy but only MTM software actively scans for mobile-related threats on devices and can address malicious apps, which signals its growing importance.

Zuzana Legáthová, Analyst Relations Manager at ESET, commented: “ESET’s recognition as a Major Player by one of the IT industry’s most important vendor assessment tools, IDC MarketScape, is an important testament to the strength of ESET’s mobile security offerings and a confirmation of our capabilities in the increasingly important space of mobile threat management software. Businesses around the world can rely on ESET’s expertise to keep each of their devices safe and secure, and the IDC Markets cape’s recognition is an important sign of this.”
