Bratislava, November 2nd, 2021 - ESET, a global leader in cybersecurity, hosted ESET European Cybersecurity Day on Wednesday 27th October 2021. ESET’s virtual conference marked October as European Cybersecurity Month, the European Union’s annual campaign dedicated to promoting cybersecurity among EU citizens and organizations, and to providing up-to-date online security information through awareness raising and sharing of good practices.

The biannual event brought together more than 390 experts and excellent speakers from EU institutions and highlighted the latest cybersecurity insights from ESET experts and guests, with featured topics including Cybersecurity and Digitalization and Threats Against Supply Chains. “Cooperation between the government and private sectors in fighting cybercrime has never been more important. It’s an honor for us to be able to provide such a high quality knowledge-sharing platform for EU cybersecurity experts.“ says Andrew Lee, Director of Government Affairs at ESET.

Expert guest speaker Dr Apostolos Malatras, Team Leader for the Knowledge and Information Team at the EU Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA), presented a talk on understanding attacks on supply chains. The presentation highlighted key observations and major findings from the ENISA “Threat Landscape for Supply Chain Attacks” report that was published in July 2021 and offered a unique perspective on growing risks for organizations across the EU.

Other expert guest speakers included Klara Jordan of The CyberPeace Institute, Anett Numa, Digital Transformation Adviser at the e-Estonia Briefing Centre and Neil Wilson of NCA UK.

In addition to  a consistent collaboration with institutions and experts across the EU in tackling cybercrime, ESET became one of the first Europe-based IT security companies to be awarded the ‘Cybersecurity Made in Europe’ label by the European Cyber Security Organization (ECSO). The award reflects ESET’s commitment to Europe-wide cybersecurity practices and protection.
