There is one critical role that leads the charge in a healthcare organization’s digital security and cyber defense: the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO). While CISOs are tasked with all aspects of digital protection, from staffing to technology decisions, little research exists regarding strategies for effective performance in the IT leadership role.
Can’t make it to HIMSS? SIGN UP for the healthcare webinar with Stephen Cobb – "Cybersecurity in Healthcare: Top 3 Challenges" on March 8.
To gain deeper insight into what it takes to fill the knowledge and skills gap for CISOs and their staff within a healthcare organization, ESET® Senior Security Researcher Stephen Cobb conducted original academic and private industry research to explore this topic. Cobb will present his findings in “Top Traits of Effective Healthcare CISOs and Their Staff” on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at 8:30 a.m. ET at the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) 2017 Conference at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
“Leading a healthcare organization’s efforts to reinforce its security and data privacy protections in the face of the current threat landscape is daunting but necessary,” said Cobb. “The research produced a clearer picture of the information organizations need to be successful in their cybersecurity hiring. An organization can improve its ability to respond to current and future cyber threats by understanding what it takes to be an effective CISO.”
