Robert Lipovsky, ESET senior malware researcher
On November 28, 2018, cybersecurity experts, journalists and government officials will converge at CyberwarCon, a one-day conference in Arlington, Virginia, to discuss, identify and explore some of the most pressing cyber threats facing our society.
Among the cyber experts speaking at the conference are ESET security researchers Robert Lipovsky and Anton Cherepanov; they will present on the main stage, detailing ESET’s recent cyber threat discoveries and providing insight about malware frameworks that have been used in stealthy operations against energy companies.
One such discovery is GreyEnergy (which ESET revealed as the successor to the BlackEnergy APT group in October 2018), which has been attacking energy companies and other high-value targets for the past three years. Lipovsky and Cherepanov’s talk will uncover connections between several APT groups that have been terrorizing critical infrastructure companies in Ukraine and have been active in other countries as well.
Read more about Lipovsky and Cherepanov’s talk, “GreyEnergy: Beyond BlackEnergy and NotPetya,” here. Press and professionals are invited to register and attend the conference. Media interviews with ESET experts will be available on request. Email PR@eset.ca for press inquiries.
