It was a great pleasure this week to receive recognition from an independent research firm which cited ESET as a ‘Leader’ in The Forrester WaveTM: Endpoint Security Suites, Q2 2018 report.
Forrester evaluated the 15 most significant endpoint security vendors and placed them in four waves: Leaders, Strong Performers, Contenders and Challengers. The report evaluates the strengths and weaknesses of each vendor against 21 criteria and spoke with enterprise clients, analysing each firm’s product suite, strategy, client base and market presence.
ESET received the highest score possible in the ‘security community involvement’ criterion, which in our opinion is a very important part of this assessment. It is probably due to the fact that we started as a small company over thirty years ago that we have always had to listen closely to our customers to develop our products and solutions. But this simple act of listening and interacting in real time with the ESET community is hardwired into our DNA – it’s just the way we work, it’s who we are – and if you’re reading this blog post – you probably already know that!
Over time, those one to one conversations have had to find a way to grow and scale, and now, our ESET communications hub, WeLiveSecurity typically welcomes 1.3 million cyber security specialists each month – the largest company forum of its kind anywhere in the world. We seek and share the latest research, and this community uses that insight to interact and support each other – defending against the threats from cyber criminals all around the world.
So when I look at ESET overall, I of course feed tremendous pride that we have received recognition that we are a ‘Leader’ in the ForresterTM Wave report. Providing services to clients with over 110 million users under protection – including some of the most recognizable firms in the world – is extremely challenging and rewarding work for our team and evidence that we’re on the right track. But it is the community that surrounds us which gives me the greatest confidence that we’re doing meaningful work that really matters to people in their everyday lives.
According to the evaluation, ESET’s score for security community involvement reached the highest score possible 5 out of 5; I know I’m biased, but I don’t think a top score of 5 is high enough. Thanks to everyone inside the company and connected with it, we’re here to help you enjoy safer technology – so this recognition really is for you.
