ESET today announces its participation in Virus Bulletin’s 26th International Conference, in Denver, Colorado October 5th through the 7th.
Hosting five in-depth perspectives on the cyber security landscape, ESET Researchers aim to contribute significantly to this year’s event. Leading the way on October 6th, researchers Anton Cherepanov and Jean-Ian Boutin, present: Modern Attacks on Russian Financial Institutions, which covers the evolutionary nature of cyber-attacks on the financial sector, most notably a shift from targeting customer to the institutions themselves.
Peter Kalnai and Martin Jirkal look into the rising threat facing Mac users from OSX/KeRanger and OSX/Keydnap, with their delivery of: Malicious OS X Cocktail Served from a Tainted Bottle. ESET will also take on the human resource challenges facing our industry, with Stephen Cobb delivering: Mind This Gap: Criminal Hacking and the Global Cybersecurity Skills Shortage, a Critical Analysis.
Rounding out the first full day is SBDH Espionage Toolkit, from Tomas Gardon and Peter Stancik. They will share perspectives on ESET’s ongoing analyses of this toolkit’s use in targeted espionage, including governmental and public institutions active in Central and Eastern Europe, as well as its unique capabilities and clues to its origin.
Closing out ESET’s contribution to Virus Bulletin’s 26th International Conference, researchers Robert Lipovsky and Anton Cherepanov will present: BlackEnergy - What we really know about the Notorious Cyber-Attacks.
“With the threat of similar attacks still hanging over global utilities and other similar sectors, we wanted to bring a topic of discussion in the interest of all to the table. Friday, we will share previously unpublished details and thus, I am hoping we can collectively get as close to the vein as possible,” said Lipovsky.
